Comparasino sits down with Adam Lahouiri, Head of Product at BetGames, to learn more about the studio’s super sequel, Skyward Deluxe.
Crash games have soared in popularity in recent years, with the fast-paced action, social gameplay elements, and player autonomy over the experience all contributing to the genre’s success.
Comparasino spoke exclusively with Adam Lahouiri, Head of Product at BetGames, to find out what makes Skyward Deluxe, the sequel to its popular debut crash game, stand out from the crowd.
Skyward was a hit with players – what inspired the development of the sequel, Skyward Deluxe, and how does it evolve the original experience?
The iconic plane that players know and love from the original Skyward makes its return in Skyward Deluxe – this time with a sleek makeover. The simple, easy-to-pick-up mechanics and the huge 100,000x max win remain untouched, ensuring the core experience players enjoyed is still at the heart of the game.
On top of that, we’ve layered in a host of exciting new features: Jackpots, leaderboards, winboards, live chat, partial cash-out, and Sky Drops (the game’s version of free bets). The aim was to enrich Skyward with social and community-driven features that we know players will not only use, but truly enjoy.

Skyward Deluxe by BetGames
What did you learn from Skyward’s performance metrics and player/online casino operator feedback that helped shape Skyward Deluxe?
Skyward was our first step into the crash game space, and it gave us invaluable insights. We listened closely to feedback from partners and players, and that directly informed the development of Skyward Deluxe. Crash game players love the social and competitive aspects – so we built on that by introducing features like leaderboards for climbing the ranks and winning prizes, winboards to showcase stats and big wins, Jackpots for shared rewards and live chat to celebrate (or gloat!) together.
Beyond new features, we’ve also invested in improving performance under the hood, making Skyward Deluxe smoother, faster and even more reliable.
What sets Skyward Deluxe apart, not just from the original, but from other crash games on the market?
Skyward Deluxe stands out thanks to its unique combination of features that have never before been offered together in a crash game. These features ensure fairness for all players and foster community engagement – for example, our Jackpot, in which all players win an equal amount when it drops; campaign-driven leaderboards; and partial cash-out, which are true firsts for the genre.
All of these arrive in a single package alongside winboards, live chat, and Sky Drops. The result is a feature-rich, community-driven game that will set a new benchmark for crash titles.
What is fuelling the growth of crash game popularity?
The simplicity of play is key – crash games are easy to understand but deliver edge-of-your-seat excitement. The real-time tension, combined with opportunities for big wins and interactive features, makes them highly engaging for both casual and seasoned players alike.
What is the next step in the evolution of crash games? How do developers go beyond the traditional crash concept to continue accelerating the genre’s success?
The evolution of crash games will likely come from fresh layers of interactivity, deeper social elements and new ways to keep players engaged. Without giving too much away, we are already exploring innovative twists that enhance the community feel and create more immersive experiences – ensuring the genre continues to grow and surprise.
Whilst we place a lot of importance on the community elements of the game, there are also a number of features and game mechanics that have not yet been trialled or introduced to the market. So, developing the core principles of simplicity and community whilst building on features that can make the games even more compelling will be part of the crash game evolution.
What gameplay mechanics and social elements would you like to see integrated into future crash releases?
Innovation has only just started in this vertical, and there is a lot more opportunity ahead in this space… Let’s just say the mechanics and social features we’d like to see will be making it onto our roadmap – and players won’t have to wait too long before they see them in action.
