Trustly has become a popular payment option for those looking to deposit and withdraw at online casino sites in the UK. It offers one of the easiest ways to top up your casino account and withdraw winnings, as well as safe and secure transactions.

It also provides high limits and fast withdrawals. You don’t need to create a Trustly account (it simply provides the connection between your bank account and the online casino) and is free to use at casinos and any other ecommerce sites where it’s accepted.

Trustly is becoming more widely used among players in the UK, but unlike Visa, Mastercard, Neteller, etc, some sites have yet to add it to their cashier. But don’t worry – we’re here to help. All the brands listed on this page offer Trustly.

Trustly explained

Trustly considers itself the modern way to pay, offering users a fast and simple way to make payments directly from their bank account. With Trustly, you don’t need to create an account and there’s no app to download or fees to pay.

Whether depositing at a casino site or making any other online payment, it works in the same way. Select Trustly from the cashier, pick your bank from the list of options, enter your online banking log-in details and then confirm the transaction. Trustly takes care of the rest.

Trustly uses the Open Banking system to act as the middleman between your bank account and the merchant – in this case, the online casino. This means your personal or financial information is never shared with the casino, great if you’re looking for added security.

This combination of convenience, speed and peace of mind is what has made the Swedish company the go-to payment provider of choice for millions of people around the world since it launched in 2008.

What is a Trustly casino?

It’s an online casino that holds an active licence from the UK Gambling Commission and that allows players to deposit and withdraw using Trustly.

As it’s becoming more popular with players, a growing number of sites are now offering it as a way to deposit and withdraw, with additional brands adding Trustly to their payment gateways each month.

Different types of Trustly casinos

The term Trustly casino is incredibly broad and each site that offers it as a payment option will provide a different player experience. This means each will appeal to different player preferences.

You might be a player who only wants to play at new casinos, or you might prefer sites that offer fast withdrawals. You might even want to play at a brand that allows you to do both.

These are some of the most common types of Trustly online casinos.

Expert Insight from Guido Klein, Head of Payments at L&L Europe

Trustly is available at a growing number of online casinos in the UK because it facilitates rapid deposits and near-instant payouts. Will it become one of the top payment methods, rivalling the likes of Visa and Mastercard? We asked Guido Klein, Head of Payments at L&L Europe for his thoughts.

“Trustly allows users to send merchants expedited bank transfers. The setup and technology are most similar to Klarna. Going forward I am expecting bank payment providers like Trustly to be the biggest growth area in terms of payments. Trustly is increasingly being adopted by many casinos but in terms of future growth, it’s more the open bank technology in general that will become the dominant payment option rather than this particular provider.”

Trustly casinos and a few things to consider

There are plenty of upsides to using Trustly to play at online casinos in the UK, but there are a few drawbacks you might want to consider.

The first is that some casinos will not allow you to deposit with Trustly and claim the welcome bonus – you can use our search engine to find those that do.

While Trustly doesn’t charge any fees, an online casino might (although most don’t). Your bank might also impose a fee.

The biggest drawback is that not all banks are supported, although the main UK high-street banks are. This includes Barclays, HSBC, Santander, Lloyds Bank, The Co-operative Bank, NatWest, Nationwide, Yorkshire Bank, Halifax and MetroBank.

How to make a Trustly casino deposit

Making a Trustly deposit is easy.

Once you’ve signed up to a casino, you’ll be prompted to make a deposit. Although the exact steps taken will differ fat each site, the process is often very similar. This is what you’ll have to do.

  1. Select Trustly from the deposit options in the cashier and enter the amount you wish to deposit. You’ll then be taken to the Trustly portal (this happens within the casino cashier).
  2. Select your bank from the list. You’ll then be prompted to log-in as you normally do.
  3. Select the bank account you want to make the transaction from.
  4. You’ll be asked to confirm the payment. This is done via your usual authentication method, which is usually a text message sent to the phone number linked to the bank account.
  5. The money is then transferred from your bank account into your real-money wagering account.
  6. Use your deposited funds to enjoy the different games offered by the online casino.

How to make a Trustly casino withdrawal

One of the biggest upsides to using Trustly is that it offers rapid withdrawal times when compared to more traditional payment methods such as Visa and Mastercard.

Making a withdrawal is simple. Just follow the below steps.

  1. Head to the casino cashier and click “withdraw”.
  2. At most casinos, you’ll be required to use the same payment method to withdraw as you did to deposit, so Trustly will be automatically selected. If you deposited with a different method and would like to withdraw with Trustly, just select Trustly or contact the customer support team.
  3. Enter the amount you’d like to withdraw being mindful of any minimum withdrawal limits the casino imposes, and then click or tap the “withdraw” button.
  4. The casino will then process your transaction. In most cases, funds will be transferred from your casino account to your bank account via Trustly on the same day.

Expert Insight from Vasilije Lekovic, VP of Gaming at Trustly

To learn more about how Trustly has revolutionised online casino deposits and withdrawals, we sat down with Vasilije Lekovic, VP of Gaming.

This is what he says sets Trustly aside from other payment options at online casinos.

“One thing that sets Trustly apart from other payment options is the easy, intuitive and smooth user experience. There is no manual entry of account numbers and you use your bank app, that you are already familiar with, to approve the payment. You also have the option of being remembered so that you can skip the step of selecting your bank and account the next time you pay with Trustly.

“Moreover, our platform and the network of bank integrations allows us to process millions of transactions without disruption and with high reliability, which is why both gambling and non-gambling clients trust us to process their payments, including government entities such as HMRC, where Trustly is the only open banking payment provider.”

Pay N Play is on its way to the UK

Trustly is also a pioneer of Pay N Play payments, which have been available to players in markets such as Sweden and Finland for a number of years.

The good news is that Pay N Play is now available with a small number of online casinos in the UK, with that number set to increase significantly this year.

This is what Vasilije has to say about it:

“The main benefit of Pay N Play is that it simplifies the player registration and verification process, offering a seamless experience where the player starts their journey on a gambling website by simply making a deposit with Trustly, while in the background we’re collecting the verified KYC data from the player’s bank and external KYC data providers and sharing those with the operator that creates a verified player account. And the player simply continues to play, without the need to scan and upload documents to verify his identity.”
