Everything You Need To Know About Seasonal Slots

Foxium CEO Liz Bann tells Comparasino that seasonal slots are all about allowing players to immerse themselves in the festivities.

Seasonal slots – you’ve got to love them. While they might initially be seen as a bit of a novelty, they can often be among the most popular slots in the online casino lobby.

Given this popularity, studios have been pulling out all the stops to develop seasonal slots around a wide range of themes, from Christmas, Halloween and Easter to major sporting and cultural events.

One such developer is Foxium, a Games Global exclusive studio partner, which recently released its Easter game, Chicks in Vegas, with a second springtime slot, Buzz4Fuzz, hitting online casino lobbies shortly.

To learn more about these games, how Foxium is cracking the code with seasonal slots and the key to launching a game franchise, we spoke to Liz Bann, Foxium CEO.

Foxium has developed several successful game franchises, including the Vikings and Rome: Fight for Gold series. What is the key to curating a popular game brand?

This is a spot-on question – thank you! I would say that one of the key elements is our consistency in upholding a brand’s established values. We cherish teamwork, making any given slot a dream to work on. Secondly, we keep a meticulous eye on the mechanics and market trends. If you create a dashing game, it’s crucial to stick to what made it so immersive and come up with new ways to elevate it further.

Foxium has two new releases this spring. First is Chicks in Vegas, which combines a festive theme with the bright lights of Sin City. How did this idea come about?

We were brainstorming for a concept that would distract players from the cloudy, grey weather and instead take them to a world of lavish wins where players embark on a brisk and feather-wrecking adventure with desperate housechicks clucking it away. The goal was to create a mesmerising and alluring experience that maximises entertainment value.

What features make this game unique?

This game ushers players into one of the feather-packed and clucktastic bonus games: Lucky Locks, Double Fever and Multi Rush, which offer a thrilling gaming experience and bestow players with an array of prizes. To cluck it all together, we included a top-notch opportunity to spin the Wheel of Odds, delivering players an opportunity to seize their luck by choosing one of the custom casinos of their choice. Players are pampered with Le Fowl Paradis, Clucky Star, and Eggzy Scarab, enhancing the exhilaration and wackiness to the pinnacle.

Your next release this spring is Buzz4Fuzz, which has a vibrant spring theme just like Chicks in Vegas. What is the appeal of these festive games, and why are they popular with players?

These slots amplify the enjoyment of a holiday by allowing players to fully immerse themselves in the festivities. We were eager to elevate this presence of festivity, doubling the thrills and delivering never-ending action on the reels. Have you seen the Frame Machine? Those bees are rocking. Buzz4Fuzz is an out-of-the-ordinary slot, blending rock bands, invigorating music accompaniment and the omnipresent atmosphere of merriment.

Buzz4Fuzz is bursting with energy. What was the most unexpected or out-there idea that started as a wild concept and actually made it into the final game?

After settling on the name of the game, it came out of the blue – let’s rock, shall we? This was the cornerstone of our conceptual metamorphosis. We also augmented the mechanics of the game, retaining its performance, adding four vibrant bonus features, and designing a set of bold symbols to heighten the overall experience. We also stuck to the visuals of the game, preserving its quality. Since these bees are all about music, this required a thorough approach. It must be noted that fortune favours the brave, and since Buzz4Fuzz is an experimental endeavour, we are delighted with the outcome.

What else can players look forward to from Foxium in the coming months?

Our roadmap for the year ahead is literally bursting with swashbuckling projects. If we are about to steal someone’s lightning, then it is going to be Celestial Flash of Zeus, so strap yourselves in. Then we have Joker Pin the Win on the horizon, so keep a vigilant eye out for that sizzling sensation. Foxium is also about to unleash some elemental-themed games – we always have fresh new slots up our sleeves.
