How Gaming Corps is Reimagining Instant Wins with Instant Blitz

Product Owner Alexandros Mavroudis explains how the studio’s latest release, Instant Blitz, blends the simplicity of a scratchcard with the progressive mechanics of a modern slot.

The instant win category has long been dominated by quick-fire scratchcards, games that are fast, but often lacking in depth.

With the release of Instant Blitz, Gaming Corps is looking to change that narrative.

We sat down with Product Owner Alexandros Mavroudis to discuss moving away from “flat” gameplay, the challenge of balancing simplicity with shifting grids and why the UK market is the perfect proving ground for this hybrid format.

Instant Blitz feels like a different direction for Gaming Corps. What prompted the move into this space?

Alexandros: We saw a chance to shake up how instant win content is usually done. A lot of scratchcard-style games are built for speed, which is fine, but they can also feel a bit flat.

With Instant Blitz, we wanted to keep that immediacy but give the session more life. It is still easy to grasp from the first click, but instead of feeling over in a flash, it starts to build. The Prize Pot grows, the grid shifts, collectible features come into play and suddenly it feels like there is much more going on beneath the surface.

The game blends scratchcard simplicity with more progressive gameplay. How did you approach that balance?

That balance was the whole challenge, and also the fun of it. We wanted players to be able to step straight in and understand what they are doing, so the layout and cluster-based wins had to feel clean and immediate.

But once you are in, the game starts moving. New symbols spawn into place, the grid stays alive and features can start changing the shape of the session quite quickly. So, while the format is simple on the face of it, it does not just sit still.

A lot of that evolution comes from the feature set. Can you talk through how those elements shape the experience?

This is really where the game starts to flex a bit. The Lightning symbol is a great example because it expands the active area and suddenly gives the whole session a different feel. Then you have the Wheel Bonus, which brings in guaranteed rewards.

So, it’s not only about landing a win, but about seeing where the session might go next. Add in Multipliers and Extra Rounds symbols, and everything starts feeding into that bigger Prize Pot journey.

Why do you think this kind of format works particularly well for the UK market?

The UK is a market that knows its gaming products, so if something new comes in, it has to earn its place quite quickly. It needs to be easy to understand, but it also needs something about it that feels fresh.

That is where Instant Blitz works well. It has a very accessible entry point, starting from 5p, so it is easy for players to get into. But it also gives operators a format that feels more current than a standard instant win game. It sits somewhere between scratchcards and slots, and that makes it a really great addition for brands looking to bring in variety without overcomplicating the experience.

Instant Blitz is also the first release in Gaming Corps’ new Super Scratch series. How important is that launch in the wider context of the portfolio?

It is a big launch for us, and a really exciting one. Instant Blitz is not just a new title, it is the starting point for a whole new series, and that gives it extra importance straight away.

This gives us the chance to push scratchcard-style content much further than we have before. It brings another vertical into the Gaming Corps portfolio, and that matters at a time when operators are looking for more flexibility and more range. We see a lot of potential in this space, and Instant Blitz feels like a very strong way to kick it off.

Finally, without giving too much away, what else can we expect from Gaming Corps this year? Could we see more from the 3 Pigs series?

There is definitely more to come, and the 3 Pigs series is one we have a lot of affection for internally. It has become a really versatile universe for us, which is part of what makes it so enjoyable to keep building on.

We have already taken it into very different worlds, from Olympus to the Caribbean to seasonal settings like Easter, and each time it gives us a chance to keep that recognisable core while playing with a completely different mood around it. That is a fun space to work in creatively because it can keep evolving without losing what made it work so well in the first place.

So yes, there is more on the way there. Alongside that, we are also exploring fresh ideas across the wider portfolio, including concepts that take us further into alternative formats again.
