My Online Casino Predictions for 2025

Comparasino Co-founder and Managing Director, Martyn Hannah, shares his big online casino predictions for the coming 12 months.

Happy New Year, online casino fans, and what better way to start 2025 than with some online casino predictions?

Throughout 2024, the online casino scene in the UK underwent some major changes, which I discussed at length in my last post on the Comparasino blog

While it’s good to look back and reflect, I’m more for looking ahead towards some of the exciting developments that will impact online casinos over the coming 12 months.

So here are my five big online casino predictions for 2025.

1 – More casinos will offer instant withdrawals

One of the biggest pain points players face at online casinos is delays in getting their winnings.

This is usually not the fault of the casino, which can have its hands tied due to things like having to verify your ID, waiting for the bank to clear funds and even weekends slowing the process down.

The good news is that most casinos offer payment options that facilitate fast withdrawals including digital wallets like PayPal and Neteller plus mobile wallets such as Apple Pay and Google Pay

But more brands are now embracing the latest payment technologies in the form of instant banking, which is provided by companies like Trustly, TrueLayer and Vyne.

These payment providers connect your bank account directly to the casino’s bank account which in turn allows for instant deposits and instant withdrawals

With player demand for instant payouts on the rise, expect more brands to add instant banking to their cashiers over the coming months.

2 – Casinos will embrace no wagering bonuses

Online casinos are increasingly limited when it comes to the bonuses they can offer players. This is because the regulator doesn’t like offers that could be seen to encourage players to gamble beyond their means.

The result is that most brands now offer a standard 100% deposit match up to £100, plus a handful of free spins

For you, the player, this means little choice when it comes to welcome bonuses and little differentiation between brands.

Enter the no wagering bonus. Pioneered by PlayOJO, other brands have since joined the revolution by offering welcome packages with no wagering requirements whatsoever.

The bonus value is usually less, but you get to keep all of your winnings. Nice.

3 – Non-traditional games will dominate casino lobbies

You might have noticed the games being offered by the casinos you play at are changing.

Sure, there’s plenty of slots, table and live dealer games, but among those you’ll now find Slingo, Mines, Plinko, Hi Lo, Hotline, Crash and more.

These formats are more akin to video and mobile games but with the option to bet on the outcome. They are fast and thrilling with plenty of big win potential.

I’m a particular fan of Aviator, the number one crash game in the world. I was lucky enough to speak with Shalva Bukia, the man behind Aviator, and share his insights in this interview on the Comparasino blog

If you haven’t already, make sure to try some of these non-traditional games. They are super easy to understand and provide tons of fun and excitement.

4 – Get ready for an influx of new online casinos

Good news, folks. In 2025, there’s going to be an influx of new online casinos now that the companies operating these brands have a better understanding of the rules and regulations they must follow.

I’ll try not to bore you with the details, but the regulations that govern online casinos in the UK have been under review for some time with a lot of uncertainty surrounding changes that might come into force.

This uncertainty has now mostly passed following the publication of a long-anticipated white paper last year with operators now able to justify the investment required to launch their brands in the UK.

In the final months of the year, we saw several new brands hit the market, including MOGOBet, with more set to come.

5 – Demand for online casino sister sites will continue

Some of the most popular pages at Comparasino are for online casino sister sites, in particular PlayOJO sister sites and All British Casino sister sites

These pages give you instant access to all of the casinos linked with PlayOJO and All British Casino so you can find new brands that offer a similar experience to your favourite sites.

We’re going to be adding even more sister sites content to Comparasino over the coming months so that we can help you find casinos linked with other popular brands such as Slingo, BetVictor and Party Casino.

So there you have it – my big predictions for 2025. Now let’s see how many of them come true over the 12 months ahead.
